Paul has always had an interest in fitness and sports and participated in football, skiing, racquetball, scuba diving and running throughout the years.
During September 2004 a bi-lateral hip replacement was necessary due to osteoarthritis. After many hours of dedicated rehabilitation in the gym he has been able to restore his fitness to its highest level.
Paul attended the A.F.A.A personal fitness-training program and holds a national certification as a personal trainer, as well as CPR and AED certifications. Paul proudly served as part of the training team at the YMCA, from October 06 to May 08 recognizing that the YMCA is a major support system for families and the local community. Paul created Renaissance Fitness; a home based training business in May 08.
He recently retired after a 24-year career with the Navy. Paul is the owner of a local bed & breakfast in Newport and has served as President of the Newport County Bed & Breakfast Association, Treasurer of the Historic Hill Association and is a member of Newport Preservation Society, Newport Art Museum, Save the Bay, the Newport International Film Festival and the Aquidneck Land Trust He is licensed as a real estate sales agent, has a six passenger Captain’s License along with a PADI scuba diver certification. Paul, a 55 year old native of Newport is married to Linda S. Manning, real estate broker, out of state property manager, B&B owner and operator and published author, and has two daughters and three granddaughters.
